What's the relationship to Freemasonry?
We’re a Masonic Appendant Body – part of the Family of Freemasonry but not Freemasonry itself. While we require Masonic connections for membership and need a Master Mason present for certain ceremonies, women lead our organization with female officers in charge.
Is this a "secret society"?
No, we operate openly in the community. While we have private ceremonies and ways of recognizing each other (like many organizations), we’re easily found and actively involved in community service. We’re not underground or secretive – we’re your neighbors!
Can I visit before joining?
Absolutely! We encourage prospective members to attend information sessions and meet with our investigation committee. This helps ensure Eastern Star is the right fit for you. Contact us to arrange a visit or meeting.
What if I can't attend every meeting?
That’s perfectly fine! Life gets busy, and we understand. Regular attendance is appreciated but not mandatory. Many of our members travel or have varying schedules. The important thing is your commitment to our values and participation when you can.
Do you really make a difference in the community?
Yes! Lei Aloha Chapter No. 3 actively supports local charities, educational scholarships, medical research, and community service projects.
